![]() Thanks to everyone who participated in our reading, cooking, and crafting tour of Europe last month. In February, we will be moving on to a new part of the world: the Middle East! While technically situated across three continents (Europe, Africa, and Asia), the Middle East is a vibrant region with a rich history, beautiful natural landscapes, powerful literary and artistic traditions, and, of course, wonderful cuisine. Given all that, we thought it would be a perfect place to explore during icy, grey February! We have lots of different ways for you and your family to "visit" and learn about the Middle East. We'll have craft kits available in the entryway every week for you to explore some of the artistic and cultural traditions from the region. And inside the library, we have books on display that highlight stories, characters, and real people from this exciting part of the world. This reading list is available online too, if you can't make it to the library in person! Last but not least, we'll have a new featured recipe every week for a traditional Middle Eastern dish. We hope you'll try them with us, and join us at the end of the month to talk about how they went for you! Be sure to send us pictures of your completed recipes, either by tagging us on social media @jerichotownlibrary or emailing photos to library@jerichotownlibraryvt.org. This virtual recipe chat will be on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm: stay tuned for the Zoom link.
