Library of Things

A library is so much more than just books! JTL's "Library of Things" makes many different, nontraditional items available to the public. Patrons can borrow these items just like any other library materials. This collection currently includes twenty pairs of snowshoes, a KitchenAid stand mixer, karaoke machine, sewing machine, pressure cooker, food dehydrator, and much more. We also have lots of games available for check-out, from Catan to croquet.

Snowshoes: We have twenty pairs of snowshoes in our Library of Things.
Snowshoes can be checked out by all Jericho Town Library and Deborah Rawson Memorial Library cardholders aged 18+ for one week at a time. The variety of sizes will fit your whole family:
  • Adult Large: 4 pairs, up to 250 lb. Includes poles and carry bag.
  • Adult Medium: 4 pairs, up to 200 lb. Includes poles and carry bag.
  • Adult Small: 4 pairs, up to 150 lb. Includes poles and carry bag.
  • Youth (ages 6-10): 4 pairs, up to 100 lb. Includes poles and carry bag.
  • Preschool (ages 3-5): 4 pairs, up to 50 lb.
Before checking out snowshoes, you'll need to fill out a user agreement/waiver that will be kept on file. You can read that form and our Library of Things policy below.

Tote Bag Kits

Jericho Town Library has seven tote bag kits that can be checked out by all patrons. These consist of a few books and accompanying activities related to different themes. Our tote bag kits were designed to be enjoyable and accessible for your whole family, and there is definitely something fun for everyone aged 3-10 in each kit.

Click through this slideshow or visit our online catalog to see all seven different kits.

Printing & Computers

Need to check your email, browse the catalog, or get some work done? We have a computer and printer available for patrons to use. Printing fees are done on a by-donation basis. There is also free WiFi access throughout the library and outside: log into the ProjectConnect network, no password needed. This WiFi network is available 24/7 and extends across nearly the whole Town Green, but gets stronger the closer you are to the front of the library building.

Seed Library

Whether you are looking to grow a few herbs, a collection of flowers, or a large vegetable garden, our Seed Library has everything you need to get started. Call to see what kinds of seeds we have and we can put an order together for you.
