A bit of history...continued.
The Jericho Town Library is a municipal library, established by a vote on town meeting day March 7, 1899. Originally, the collection was situated in various private homes during the 1890’s. In 1915 with need for further space it became established in the Jericho Academy, preserving this historic structure built in 1825. In 1955 the state built a road through the green and the building was moved across the street to its present location. It serves as a vibrant community meeting place, welcoming citizens of all ages. In 2016, Jericho Town Library celebrated serving the citizens of Jericho for over 117 years.
